Performance Mindset for Endurance Athletes

Hosted by Dr. Justin Ross and Coach Ben Davis: April 17th @6:00pm MST

You dedicate hours to training, striving to improve your endurance and increase your strength. You obsess over gear choices and take steps to have your equipment as dialed in as possible. You optimize nutrition and recovery. Yet, despite your dedication you may be neglecting one of the most important aspects of being an athlete: Your Mind.

Despite all your best efforts to prepare for the physical demands of your training and racing schedule, none of them are going to save you when:

  • You’re in the middle of a workout and give up on the next interval because you tell yourself it’s too hard. Worse - you begin doubting whether you have what it takes to be successful on race day.

  • For no particular rhyme or reason, anxiety intrudes your thoughts, and you begin questioning whether or not you even belong on the starting line.

  • Race day is 2 weeks away and taper madness has you wondering if you’ve adequately prepared or if you should cram in another set of intervals.

  • You’re in the middle of the race and mounting fatigue has you questioning whether or not your goals are even worth continuing or if you should just step off the course.

Coaches Ben Davis and Justin Ross are co-hosting the performance mindset webinar to provide sport and performance psychology best practices in your training and racing.

Trail & Ultra Running Race Logistics

Hosted by David Hettena: June 4th @5:30pm MST

With countless top-20 finishes and many podiums to his name, Coach David Hettena may appear to be just another front-pack competitor who can't quite break through to the professional level, that is until you realize he is a 210lb (95kg) giant of a runner. In a sport ruled by the physics of power-to-weight ratio, David weighs 50% more than his closest competitors, while putting up similar times. How is this possible? By mastering dozens of often-overlooked details and practicing race-day tactics that can enable anyone to leapfrog their closest competitors. While you may not be able to run as fast as a professional, you can take pride in executing like one, and as a result, enjoy getting to the finish line in record time. In this webinar, you'll learn:

  • How and why to build an optimal pace card, and how to use it (and not use it) on race day
  • How to optimize gear configurations for heat, cold, rain, and wind,
  • How to optimize your crew and their support of your race effort
  • How to optimize aid station stops; in & out in 80 seconds with zero stress
  • Audience Q&A

Most ultra runners don't realize they could be getting to the finish line of any ultramarathon 5-15% faster, simply by deploying the little-known tactics of today's most experienced professional and elite racers. In this webinar, you will learn the skills and techniques necessary to manage your race like today's best professionals, so you can get the most out of the fitness you've built.
