Brandon Head - Moab 240

This was my 3rd over 100M race since getting into ultra running. 2x Leadville and then this monster. I couldn’t really comprehend what 240M would be like since it was uncharted territory. My Coach, Scott Jordan assured me I’d be ok, and I knew that I could rely on all the training we’d put it leading up to it. I finished the race 32nd overall, so I couldn’t have been too far off!

We got dealt some pretty heavy blows with the weather but that just made it “more fun”. The range of emotions that one can go through in that amount of time is quite amazing. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my wife Shelly and of course my team; Coach Scott Jordan, Ian Jordan, Boundless Athlete Levi, and Boundless Athlete Isaac.

Each one paced a section of the course and Levi pulled dual duty as the crew chief and anchor pacer. We got behind because of the weather and he ended up having to pace a solid 70 miles.

I’d love to go back and give it another shot and finish where I know I can. Maybe a triple crown attempt is in my future???

All in all though, I’m so thankful to have Coach Scott in my corner as both a Coach and mentor in this sport. Even more thankful to have friends that will take a weekend to come help a guy out all in the name of fun.
